The Bautista-Medina fight opened up the HBO Pay-Per-View telecast of the megafight between Oscar de la Hoya and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. last May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Bautista won by unanimous decision over Medina in a thrilling contest that saw Bautista knocking down Medina twice, once in the 6th and once in the 11th round, and Medina knocking down Bautista once in the 6th.
