FILIPINO boxing icon Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao said yesterday that he will apply new fighting techniques in his fight against Mexican Jorge Solis today at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
?May mga ibang techniques lang kaming in-apply dahil sa style ni Jorge,? Pacquiao said during a pre-fight live-interview from San Antonio.
The 28-year old southpaw, however, did not elaborate on what new style they will be using against the undefeated opponent.
?So you better watch out for the new techniques tomorrow,? he said.
Pacquiao said that there will be no problem even if Freddie Roach will be back at his corner together with Justin Fortune, who handled the training and conditioning in the absence of Roach.
?I will do all my best so that all the Filipino people will be
happy? bared Pacquiao, who said that he had never underestimated his opponents.
No replay of the fight, however, was allowed to be shown here in the first district of South Cotabato composed of GenSan and the towns of Tupi, Tampakan and Polomolok.
He agrees to the non-showing of his commercials and other things that are not related to boxing. But he said that the replay should be shown because not all can see the live showing.
?Bigyan naman natin ng konteng kaligayahan ang mga kababayan
natin,? he said. He added that what he is fighting is not for himself but for the country.
?Sama-sama tayo para sa karangalan nating lahat ito,? he said.
He is glad to know that his political rivals Mayor Pedro Acharon and incumbent congresswoman Darlene Antonino-Custodio will reportedly watch his fight at the free viewing inside the Lagao gym today.
?Masaya ako na manood sila. Yan naman ang gusto ko. Kalimutan muna natin ang politika,? said Pacquiao.
After the fight, Pacquiao will immediately fly back to General Santos City on Sunday (Monday in the Philippines) to start campaigning for his political bid against Custodio in the first district of South Cotabato.
Pacquiao is running under the administrations? Kampi party, while Custodio is from the Genuine Opposition in the May 14 elections.
CALLS CEASEFIRE IN POLITICS
CONGRESSIONAL bet Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao has called for a time-out in politics to concentrate on his fight with the undefeated Mexican Jorge Solis today at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
In a pre-fight interview yesterday from San Antonio, the
28-year old candidate for the first district of South Cotabato requested to forget politics in the meantime.
?Naay panahon ana sa politika,ug naay panahon pud sa pagkakaisa sa kagaya mong Filipino. Magkaisa tayo, kalimutan muna natin yang politika,? Pacquiao said.
?Hindi lahat ng time puro politika. Dito karangalan ng bansa natin, tayong lahat sama-sama,? he added.
Pacquiao is running under the administration?s Kampi party against the incumbent Congresswoman Darlene Antonino-Custodio of the Genuine Oppossition on the May 14 elections.
