Garde bows to Zhu, fails to win WBO Global minimum title-fight

RICHARD Garde of President Roxas failed in his title-fight and lost by a unanimous decision to WBO Global minimumweight champion DianXing Zhu of China last January 13 at the Paradise City in Incheon, South Korea.
All the three judges scored in favor of the 26-year-old Zhu – Jeong Taek (100-90), Mark Leong (97-93) and Edward Ligas (98-92).
It was Garde’s second loss against eight wins while Zhu posted his 12th victory against only one defeat.
“We lost, let's get back to the next fight. Thank you to everyone who prayed for the play to be safe and trusted me to fight,” said Garde after the fight.
The 26-year-old Garde is the current Philippine Boxing Federation minimumweight champion.
