Manny Pacquiao?s promoter took up the cudgels again for his prize boxer against Pacquiao?s toughest foe to date ? the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank Boxing, described BIR Chief Kim Henares as a ?loose cannon? and called on Philippine President Benigno Aquino Jr. to check on her in an interview with ABS CBN and The Filipino Channel?s Balitang America.

"I think the President should be aware on what's happening and what she's doing, what a loose cannon she seems to be, and take appropriate action," Arum told Balitang America.

"They were taxing him on revenue that didn't exist, and when they asked her what was her theory as for the revenue, she said she read it in the newspaper,? Arum added.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recently asked the Supreme Court to lift the existing Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) which is preventing the agency to pursue collection of over Three Billion pesos that Pacquiao allegedly owes them.

The high court issued a resolution this week asking Pacquiao to answer the motion for reconsideration filed by the BIR regarding the TRO. Pacquiao and his lawyers were given 10 days to file their answer.

Arum, a former tax lawyer himself, praised the August 22 ruling by the high court when it ordered the TRO against the BIR and the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) and its efforts to collect from the famous boxer but criticized the BIR?s actions regarding this case.

"The Philippines has a very good judicial system and Manny went to court in the Philippines and got an injunction against the tax people, because what they were doing was absolutely insane."

Arum also pointed out in the article and the interview that there are other expenses and ?"that the promoter has to get paid? which Henares and the BIR might have missed.

"What Manny got paid is a public record. Her conduct is, as an outsider, is really disturbing, and I think there's a lot of politics," said Arum.

Pacquiao is currently training for his next fight which will be a defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) belt against undefeated Chris Algieri of New York on November 23rd (22nd in the USA) in Macao, China.
