Tokyo, Japan – In a sensational showdown at Korakuen Hall on Saturday night, Feb. 7, 2026, Gabriel Santisima of ZipSanman boxing delivered a stunning performance to dethrone previously unbeaten Subaru Murata and captured the WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title. Entering the fight, Murata had an unblemished record of 10 wins, all by knockout.
Santisima came out aggressive from the opening rounds, pressing the action with jabs and straight left hand. Murata, answering in bursts, found moments of resurgence in rounds 4 through 6.
However, the turning point came at the end of the sixth round when Santisima landed a clean left hand that dropped Murata, signaling a shift in the contest. The fight continued through ten dramatic rounds, ultimately awarding Santisima a unanimous decision victory. With this win, Santisima improves to a record of 10 wins and 1 loss, with 7 knockouts. The victory positions the 21-year-old Filipino contender for even bigger opportunities on the world stage.
