Super flyweight Lito Sisnorio has suffered a fourth round knockout at the hands of former WBC flyweight champion Chatchai Sasakul in what seemed like an obvious mismatch at the Wat Sing School in Thailand.
Sisnorio was coming off a fourth round TKO to reigning WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in a ten round battle last January 26.
With the win the 37 year old Sasakul who lost the world flyweight title to Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao in December 1998 improved his record to 59-3 with 38 knockouts.
In his previous fight Sasakul beat another Filipino boxer Alfred Nagal who dropped a six round unanimous decision.
While the Games and Amusements Board follows its rule that a boxer who suffers a KO or TKO cannot fight again until after 45 days, it appears to merely follow the letter of the rule and does not check on whether the first fight after a KO or TKO is a mismatch.
It is clear to most boxing aficionados that Sisnorio fighting the former world champion was a blatant mismatch since aside from a far superior ring record Sasakul had won his last six fights, four by KO or TKO.
