In front of the Madame Tussaud?s Wax Museum in the very touristy and busy Fisherman?s Wharf in San Francisco, California, Mercito Gesta and Luis Arceo both made the contracted weight requirements for their junior welterweight clash Friday night.

Gesta (27-1-1, 15 KOs), originally of Mandaue City in the Philippines and now fighting out of San Diego, California, hit the scales at 138.5 pounds while Arceo (28-12-4, 18 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico is at 137 pounds according to Team Gesta.

The two will battle as the main event of a Golden Boy Promotions sponsored event at the Longshoreman?s Hall, also inside Fisherman?s Wharf Friday night. Their fight will be televised in the United States via Fox Sports 1 and in South American countries via its Spanish channel, Fox Deportes.

Gesta and his team arrived Thursday night in San Francisco from San Diego and the 26 year-old southpaw ensured that he?ll make weight by performing light exercises and spending time in the sauna, hours before the weigh-in on Thursday afternoon.

The former lightweight title contender rested and rehydrated after the weigh-in ceremonies and feasted on Filipino dishes before retiring for bed Thursday night.

Doors for the 10 fight card which is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Paco Presents Boxing will open at 6 pm PT; with the Main Cards at 7 pm. Fox Sports 1 will start their telecast at 7 pm PT / 10 PM ET.
