Stephenson.
CHICAGO -- Versatile guard Lance Stephenson has left the Indiana Pacers and signed a three-year deal to join the Charlotte Hornets. His contract is worth $27 million with the team holding the option for the third year.

The Pacers wanted to keep Stephenson and offered him a five-year pact for $44 million. but the mercurial Stephenson felt that the deal "undervalued" him. Through his agent, he also said the Pacers' contract lacked "flexibility."

The 23-year old Stephenson is in his fourth year in the NBA after the Pacers took him in the second round (No. 40 pick) of the 2010 draft. He led the league in triple-doubles last season with five while averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists an outing.

Although the 6-foot-5, 230-pound New Yorker is a constant triple-double threat, his antics, which included the infamous blowing on LeBron James' ears, raised questions on his maturity which reportedly led to his lowered market value. (Homer D. Sayson)
