LeBron James, the biggest catch in this free agency summer, has decided to leave the Miami Heat and return to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

"I always believed that I'd return to Cleveland and finish my career there. I just don't know when After the season, free agency wasn't even a thought. But I have two boys and my wife, Savannah, is pregnant with a girl. I started thinking about what it would be like to raise my family in my hometown," LeBron wrote in a personal essay first published by SI.com.

James, who opted out of his two-year $42 million contract with the Heat, will receive a max offer of four years and $88 million with the Cavaliers, ESPN reports.

In a widely panned show dubbed as "The Decision" LeBron famously left Cleveland in 2010, telling the whole world he is "taking his talents to South Beach."

But what a difference four years make.

"My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn't realize that four years ago. I do now," his letter continued. "It's where I walked. It's where I ran. It's where I cried. It's where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart," James said of his hometown.

James' departure signals the end of the Big Three era in Miami as Dwyane Wade is likely the only star to remain with the Heat. Chris Bosh is seriously mulling an offer to join the Houston Rockets who are offering him a four year deal for $88 million. (Homer D. Sayson)
