CHICAGO -- Houston Rockets forward Chandler Parsons hit the NBA free agency lottery Thursday night and signed an offer sheet from the Dallas Mavericks worth $45 million for three years.
A restricted free agent, the 6-foot-9, 227-pound Parsons can still be retained by the Rockets if they decide to match the Mavericks' contract. Houston has until 11:59 pm Sunday to decide, according to ESPN.
The 25-year old Parsons was the No, 38 pick in Round 2 of the 2011 NBA draft. A product of the University of Florida, the same school that produced Chicago Bull Joakim Noah, Parsons spent the last three years in Houston where he averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
"Extremely humbled. One night of fun and back to work. Thank you everyone who has helped me. I am blessed," Parsons said in a Tweet. (Homer D. Sayson)
