TEAM PACMAN IS OVERALL PLDT- ABAP NATIONAL CHAMPION

DIGOS CITY? Inspired by Cong. Manny Pacquiao, the main organizer of the premier national boxing tournament, Team Pacman won the overall title in the PLDT-ABAP National Boxing Championships here in this Davao del Sur capital city. They amassed six golds, three silvers and eight bronze medals.

The boxers are from the Manny Pacquiao Boxing Academy based here. The Team Pacman gold medalists were Ranjo Gil Napoles, Glaidyl Reducto, Jericho Sahohito, Jean Minguillan, Ryan Moreno and John Paul Bentoso.

They defeated their opponents all by unanimous decision.

Napoles beat Ronald Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision to grab the junior boys? bantamweight 60 kg. category gold.

Moreno outclassed Jaybee Canedo of Camiguin to win the gold in the youth boys? pinweight 46 kg. category.

Reducto prevailed over Lutayan Sultan Kudarat's Jolina Lamberte for the school girls? paperweight 44 kg. gold.

Sahohito dominated Tayabas? John Paul Ramos for the junior boys? light flyweight 48 kg. title.

Minguillan outpointed Cagayan de Oro?s Elaide Pamisa for the junior girls? pinweight 46 kg. crown.

Bentoso won the gold in the youth boys light flyweight 49kg. gold medal.

Cagayan de Oro placed 2nd overall with four golds, one silver, and four bronzes; Cebu City finished 3rd with three golds and two bronzes; Bago City was 4th winning two golds, one silver and one bronze; and General Santos City was 5th with two gold and two bronze medals.

CDO golds were courtesy from Carlo Paalam, Angelica Dadole, and Shera Mae Jacinto.

Paalam defeated Pacman?s Criz Sander Laurente in the junior boys? pinweight, 46 kg. division by split decision.

Dadole beat Bago City?s Sheila Mae Mag Usara in the junior girls? light flyweight 46 kg. category by unanimous decision


Jacinto edged Pacman?s Joan Sumilhig in the junior girls? flyweight, 48 kg. division by SD.

Mario Bautista of Bago City won over Tayabas? Archie Estelledes by UD in the junior boys? lightweight 52 kg. category.

Mario Jaga also of Bago triumphed over La Union?s Lawrence Ordonio by UD in the junior boys? bantamweight 54 kg. division.

Kit Ceron Garces, Junrel Jimenez and Jorge Edusma gave Cebu the three gold medals.

Garces overwhelmed Gerald Alvarez of Pacman by UD in the Jr. Boys Flyweight 50kg. division.

Jimenez scored the only TKO of the day in 1:55 of the 2nd round over Ryan Torres of La Union to win the Youth Boys Flyweight 52kg. gold.

Edusma conquered Gilbert Rey Jerusalem of Camiguin for the Youth Boys Bantamweight 60kg. title.
