CHICAGO -- Jason Kidd is one and done with the Brooklyn Nets.

After a moderately successful season in which he coached the 44-38 Nets through the second round of the 2014 NBA playoffs, Kidd is headed to Milwaukee where he is going to be at the helm of a rebuilding franchise starred by prized rookie Jabari Parker.

In acquiring the coaching rights for Kidd, the Bucks surrendered two second round draft picks (2015 and 2019) to Brooklyn. The Bucks also fired coach Larry Drew, who finished last season with a disappointing 15-67 record which made Milwaukee the worst team in the NBA.

According to an ESPN report, the co-owners of the Bucks -- Wes Edens and Marc Lesry -- met with Kidd in New York a few days before the June 26 NBA draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The meeting had the consent of Nets management.

Lionel Hollins, former head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, appears to be the front runner to take over the Nets.

"He represents stability and stability is very important right now. He rules with an iron fist and gets a lot out of his players, so he'd be very high on the list right now, and likely the leader," a a source told ESPN. (Homer D. Sayson)
