NBA West Finals -- Spurs blast Thunder in Game 1

CHICAGO -- The size and length of the San Antonio Spurs proved to much for the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals Monday night at the AT&T Center.
Led by Tim Duncan's 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting, the Spurs bullied the Thunder in the paint, 66-32, en route to a one-sided 122-105 blowout and a 1-0 series lead in this best-of-7 series.
Manu Ginobili registered 18 points, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green each had 16, while Tony Parker added 14 and 12 assists and the San Antonio Spurs made 50-of-87 from the field (57.5 percent) and a robust 9-of-17 (52.9 percent) from 3-point range.
Despite trailing for most part of the game, the Thunder went on a third quarter run that gave them a 78-77 lead, but the Spurs answered with a 5-0 spurt and never looked back. San Antonio finished off the Thunder with a 33-point explosion in the final 12 minutes where they made 13 of 18 shots.
Kevin Durant finished with 28 points for OKC and Russell Westbrook chipped in 25, but both stars accounted for 40 of their team's 80 field goals, a disparity that was no much against the balanced Spurs offense. (Homer D. Sayson)
