Filipino American super featherweight, Adam Fiel of Vacaville, California won by way of a Unanimous Decision in his second fight as a pro at Hawaiian Gardens, California over debuting Luis Pelayo of Oxnard, California.

Fiel, whose parents are both Filipino, and whose grandfather is from Cebu, gathered scores of 38-37, 39-36 and a perfect card of 40-35 in all of the judges card at ringside over Pelayo.

Fiel dropped Pelayo early in the first after starting aggressively against his fellow Californian.

Pelayo got up, survived the round and recovered from the knockdown, even trading shots in the 2nd against Fiel.

But Fiel, who is trained by Nonito Donaire Sr., landed heavy shots in the 3rd that sent Pelayo retreating in a corner. He finished the scheduled 4 round fight with a big hook that landed flushed on his opponent.

Fiel improved to 2-0 with 1 KO.

Donaire Sr. was satisfied with his ward's performance and that the fight provided his young boxer the needed experience this early in his career especially against a taller and bigger opponent like Pelayo.

"The guy is too big, taller. So we feed Adam to gain two more pounds," Donaire Sr. told Philboxing.com.

"It's a good experience (for Fiel)," he added.

Fiel was a former member of the Philippine national team and also boxed extensively as an amateur in the United States.
