He is coming from a loss to GM Leinier Dominguez of Cuba (2754) after 21 moves of Petroff Defense in Tuesday's eight round before taking a break on Wednesday.
Top seed GM Levon Aronian of Armenia (2803) split the point with GM Anish Giri of the Netherlands (2737) after 48 moves of Catalan Opening to raised his total 6.0 points and maintained the lead. GM Sergey Karjakin of Russia (2756) defeated GM Boris Gelfand of Israel (2777) after 60 moves of Sicilian Defense, Najdorf Variation for solo 2nd place with 5.5 points.-Marlon Bernardino-
