LOS ANGELES -- The San Antonio Spurs had little trouble dismissing the visiting Los Angeles Clippers, who visited the AT & T Center Saturday night without its leader, Chris Paul.
Using a 37-17 first quarter barrage, the Spurs finished the opening half with a 70-35 bulge and never looked back.
Tiago Splitter led San Antonio with 22 points and five rebounds and Tony Parker went loose with 17 and nine assists. Manu Ginobili and Danny Green had 15 apiece and Kawhi Leonard tallied 10 as the Spurs nailed 50 of 90 field goals.
Without Paul, who is out for 3 to 5 weeks with a separated shoulder, Jamal Crawford handled point guard duties and scored 24. Blake Griffin finished with 19 and seven rebounds and Darren Collison had 14 as the Clips made a high 37-for-79 field goal conversation against the tough San Antonio defense.
The Spurs improved to 26-8 while the Clippers slipped to 23-13. (JO)
