CHICAGO -- In a disappointing season teeming with several lows, the Brooklyn Nets found a bright spot Thursday night.

Joe Johnson drilled a pullup jumper as time expired to lift the Nets to an improbable 95-93 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Johnson finished only with nine points but Deron Williams carried Brooklyn with 29 points, five steals and four assists. Veteran Paul Pierce added 18 while Alan Anderson had 13.

The Nets trailed by as many as 16 and 77-66 after three quarters. Brooklyn is a porous 1-19 when falling behind entering the fourth quarter. With am improved 11-21 won-lost record, the Nets are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, three spots removed from a playoffs berth.

"I thought as a team we did a great job of keeping it close and coming up with big plays especially in the fourth quarter and down the stretch," Johnson told NBA.com after his heroic shot.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 24 points while Perry Jones had 11. Serge Ibaka tallied 10 and the Thunder slipped to 25-7, second-best in the Western Conference behind the 26-7 Portland Trail Blazers. (Homer D. Sayson)
