Farenas.
The recent financial issues of Manny Pacquiao will not affect the initial offering of the country?s newest boxing promotions of which he is a partner of.
MAG International Boxing Promotions' first boxing event this Friday at the Solaire Resort and Casino which will feature Filipino super featherweight contender Michael Farenas vs Jesus Rios of Mexico in the main event, is a go despite Pacquiao?s tax battle with the Bureau of Internal Revenue Service (BIR) and possibly the United States' Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Anson Tiu-Co, of MAG does not think that Pacquiao?s tax woes will be a factor in Friday?s show dubbed as ?First Blood? or in its future shows.
?None whatsoever, we are totally independent from Manny's personal affairs,? Tiu-Co told Philboxing.com.
Their other partner, boxing legend Gerry Penalosa shares Tiu-Co?s assessment but would rather not comment on the matter because of its sensitivity.
Pacquiao has been hogging the news lately because of a reported discrepancy in his previous income tax returns, the BIR placed a Notice of Garnishment on some of Pacquiao?s bank accounts in the country.
Tiu-Co and Penalosa though are hoping that their famous partner will be at ringside to witness their initial venture at the newest casino-resort in the country.
Weigh-in for the 10-card event will be held today, Thursday, at 9 in the morning at Ballroom 5 of Solaire.
