
ALBERT PAGARA FACES RUBEN MANAKANE IN IDOL 2 IN MAASIN CITY

Maasin Pride "Prince" Albert Pagara stars in the second edition of Idol Boxing Series of the ALA Boxing Promotions which will be held on November 15, 2013 at the Maasin City Gymnasium. He will fight Ruben Manakane of Jakarta, Indonesia in a 10-round bantamweight bout.
It will mark the first time that the undefeated ALA Boxing Gym standout will appear on a bout televised nationwide. It will be aired over ABS-CBN Studio 23 which is tentatively set on November 30, a Saturday.
Aside from the fights, Idol 2 will also feature the weigh-in, press conference, public workouts and sparring and the city tourism attractions. It will be joint undertaking of the city government of Maasin and the ALA Boxing Promotions.
The supporting event will feature another undefeated fighter Juren Labordo of Bacolod City against Demsey Manufoe of Surakarta, Indonesia in another ten-rounder.
In the preliminary bouts, Roma Rate of Mandaue City will clash with Reymond Tabogon of Misamis Oriental, while Brian Lobitania of Kitaotao, Bukidnon will encounter Nikong Calamba of Butuan City for eight rounds. Jonas Sultan of Zamboanga del Norte will fight Rocky Alvarez of General Santos City, Kim Galon of Davao City will contest Belmar Plaza of Cebu City and Raul Yu of Butuan City will oppose Andrew Palas of Cebu City all for six rounds.
The maiden card of the Idol Boxing Series was held on August 24, 2013 which featured ALA Gym?s Melvin Gumban and Mark Vincent Bernaldez who knocked out their Indonesian foes at the Escalante City Stadium in Escalante City, Negros Occidental. It was aired over Studio 23 on September 14, 2013.
The Idol Boxing Series will enable rising boxers to be highlighted on national television for their talents to be discovered. This is a stepping stone for upcoming boxing superstars to showcase their skills and later to be included in the regular and more prestigious Pinoy Pride Series.
