CHICAGO -- The highly-anticipated 2013-14 NBA regular season opener between the two-time defending champions Miami Heat and the visiting Chicago Bulls turned into a one-sided 107-95 affair in favor of the Heat Wednesday night at the American Airlines Arena.

LeBron James led the hosts with yet another all-around effort of 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. But the four-time NBA MVP got plenty of support from an inspired cast of teammates who received their championship rings for the second straight October.

Chris Bosh finished with 16 points and six rebounds while Dwyane Wade added 13. Shane Battier drilled four triples for 14 markers and Ray Allen and Norris Cole each had 11.

Derrick Rose played his first regular season game in 18 months after sustaining a torn ACL. He struggled with just 12 points on 4-for-15 shooting, including only 1-for-7 from 3-point range. The former MVP also had five turnovers against a scant four assists.

Miami made 37 of 72 field goals for 51.4 percent while the Bulls only sank 35 of 83 shots, a poor 42.2. percent clip(HDS)
