Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is waiting for Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao’s decision on his scheduled April 28 fight against WBC featherweight champion In Jin Chi of South Korea.

Pacquiao who was supposed to leave for Los Angeles where Arum said he would make a big announcement Saturday about the planned fight in the gambling enclave of Macau didn’t take the flight after playing pool till morning and sleeping until late evening.

However, his close friend Rex “Wakee” Salud said Pacquiao now plans to leave for the U.S on January 31.

WBC founding secretary general Rudy Salud who, at the request of his good friend and manager of In Jin Chi, well known businessman Kusung Lee asked this reporter to inform Arum that the featherweight champion was willing to move up in w eight to fight Pacquiao at 130 pounds on April 28 said Arum was “ waiting for Manny’s decision.”

Salud said his lawyer-son Chito Salud who just returned from Seoul disclosed that Kusung Lee had informed him that he and In Jin Chi had come to terms with Arum and they were merely waiting for Pacquiao’s decision.

There were also indications that despite the hype the fight wont take place at the Wynn Hotel & Casino in Macau since there was no venue to stage the fight and that the crowds in Macau were mostly Chinese who were interested in gamblind and not boxing and that there were no Koreans in Macau. It was also reported that the people in Macau didn’t know who Pacquiao is except for the Filipinos who work there.
