Manny Pacquiao was unable to test the mettle of Ghanaian welterweight and new spar mate Fredrick Lawson yesterday (Tuesday), because of more pressing issues- parenthood.

Pacquiao, wife Jinkee and their children celebrated the birthday of their oldest daughter, Princess, who turned seven yesterday. The Pacquiaos celebrated their daughter?s birthday in an orphanage in Manila where they spent time with the children in the institution.

But Pacquiao did not let the day end without visiting his MP Tower Gym in the afternoon. He spent around three hours in the gym, doing mitt work with Manila based trainer, Jonathan Penalosa of the famed Penalosa clan of boxing.

The undefeated Lawson who arrived Sunday afternoon in the country was also present in the gym. He watched from the sidelines as he looked intently at the boxing superstar who was doing his mitt work.

Team Pacquiao and Lawson took the early morning flight back to General Santos City today (Wednesday) and plans are for them to start sparring Thursday at The Wild Card gym which is the base camp of their preparations for Pacquiao?s November 24 fight with Brandon Rios.
