The famed Wild Card Gym in Hollywood may be missing its most popular denizen but Filipino boxing superstar, Manny Pacquiao is just as comfortable in a gym in his home town that shares the same name.
Pacquiao started serious preparation this week for his November 24 fight with Brandon Rios at his own three story boxing and fitness gym in General Santos City, also named as The Wild Card Gym.
The building which is approximately three kilometers from the Pacquiao mansion is the base camp of Team Pacquiao for this camp. They will be busy planning their strategy in what is foreseen as a bloody war against Rios, whom he will face at The Cotai Arena in Macau, China.
Pacquiao has been doing his various conditioning exercises and mitt work with longtime friends and assistant trainers, Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri in the brand new gym that just opened this April. The eight division titlist starts the day with a morning jog at around five and then spends at least three hours in the afternoon in the facility to complete his day.
Pacquiao?s punches can be heard all over the Wild Card Gym throughout the afternoon according to Jun Aquino, Pacquiao?s official artist.
?Ang lalakas ng suntok. Buong Wild Card Gym maririnig mo ang lakas. Si Buboy maga na kamay dahil sa suntok ni Manny.? Aquino told this Philboxing writer.
(His punches are really hard. You can hear it all over the Wild Card Gym. Buboy?s hands are swollen as a result of Manny?s punches.)
?Ganado si MP (Manny Pacquiao), masaya siya.? He added.
If things go as planned, today (Thursday) will be Pacquiao?s first day of sparring against welterweight, Min Wook-Kim of South Korea.
Aquino shares his exclusive photographs of Pacquiao and his training to the readers of Philboxing.com.
