CHICAGO -- Tracy McGrady, one the NBA's most prolific scorers, announced his retirment from the NBA on Monday, ending a 16-year career that was marred by injuries

The No. 9 pick in the 1997 NBA draft, T-Mac averaged 19.6 points and 5.6 rebounds throughout his career. He appeared in 918 regular season games and played for the Toronto Raptors, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks.

The 34-year old McGrady, who jumped from high school to the pros, played briefly with the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball League before joining the San Antonio Spurs last April 16, 2013. The 6-foot-8, 225-pound guard-forward earned as estimated $162.9 million in NBA salaries.

"It's been 16 years, man, playing the game I love, dreamed about and I think I've had a great run and it's come to an end," said the 7-time All-Star who made the announcement while a guest at ESPN's First Take morning show. (HDS)
