It looks like Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton will make an early landfall than what was reported in boxing circles lately. Sources close to the information have informed this Philboxing.com writer that the three-time Filipina-American world champion will fight on August 17th in Cancun, Mexico. Her opponent is fellow American, Celina Salazar of San Antonio, Texas.

The fight between the two, will be part of the card that will be headlined by the WBC Super featherweight contest between Takashi Miura and Sergio Thompson.

Julaton, according to earlier reports, this writer included, is poised to make her comeback in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Saul Alvarez mega card on September 14th in Las Vegas. But according to the source, the boxer will first square off against Salazar next month with the ultimate goal of fighting for the world championship a month after against IBF female bantamweight champ, Yasmin Rivas of Mexico at the MGM Grand in the Mayweather Jr. - Alvarez card.

The fight, according to the source, will be carried by Mexican television network, Televisa and in the US by Fox Deportes and possibly by another major US Sports channel. But no Philippine based TV network has yet showed interest to the comeback of its first ever Pinay champ.

Julaton, 33, has a record of 12 (2 KOs)-3-1 while the younger Salazar, 24, is 4 (1 KO) -1 ? 2 in the ring.

The trusted source also informed us that besides the formal announcement of the fight between the two female boxers, a major announcement about Julaton is also coming up.

It appears that the hurricane season is truly upon us.
