Julaton.
Former female super bantam champ, Ana Julaton, would not give any details on her much anticipated return to the ring, when Philboxing.com reached out to her last week. What she did instead was point me to her Facebook and Instagram profile which showed her training in a gym in Las Vegas.

?I can?t say anything for the record so just follow the crumbs,? she said.

She also sent me a link to a recent story in the Ring magazine?s website about Showtime Network possibly investing in women?s boxing. In it was a Twitter exchange between the boxer and Showtime head, Stephen Espinoza, about a possible venture by the network into the female division of the sport.

?Yes,? was Julaton?s reply if her fight is coming up soon and further commented that ?All the signs are on my Facebook, my website and my Instagram.?

An article on FightHype.com today talked about Julaton possibly facing IBF bantamweight champ, Yazmin Rivas of Mexico in the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather- Saul Alvarez card in Las Vegas and on Showtime on September 14th. (http://www.fighthype.com/news/article14740.html)

Philboxing.com again reached out to the former Filipino-American super bantamweight title-holder with regards to the said article and she did not confirm nor deny the information contained therein.

?I really can?t say anything other than I have been preparing very hard. I am ready for whoever they put in front of me anywhere in the world,? Julaton said.

Rivas, 25, is a veteran of 39 fights, and has a record of 28 wins (9 KOs) against 7 defeats. She is in possession of the IBF bantamweight belt since 2011 winning it against Susie Ramadan of Australia. She also held the WBA super flyweight title in the past.

Julaton, 33, with a record of 12 wins against 3 defeats and a draw, has been eager to return to the ring. She fought almost a year ago with a rousing TKO victory of Abigail Ramos of Mexico in August of last year. Her team has been negotiating with the two top promotional companies of the sport, Golden Boy and Top Rank, in recent months for her possible inclusion in their cards, especially that of the card of her idol, Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao.

?Whenever and wherever my next fight is, I promise all the people that watch that I will leave my heart in the ring. I have always fought with passion and I know that every time I step in that ring, is a chance to show all Filipinas that you can be anything you want to be and not just what they tell you to be.?

If this fight is made, how ironic is it that the guy who gave her a chance in the big stage is no other than Floyd Mayweather Jr., her idol?s rival outside the ring.
