Two-time Olympic g old medalist and tree-time world amateur champion Zou Shiming of China returns to the plush Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino for his second pro fight when he takes on Mexico's Jesus Ortega on July 27.

Ortega is expected to give Shiming a tougher challenge compared to the Chinese champion's pro debut also at the same venue last April 6 when he scored a unanimous four round decision over another Mexican Eleazar Valenzuela.

In a post fight interview, Zou Shiming conceded, "I know I am a rookie but I am confident I will improve."

His celebrated trainer Freddie Roach believes Zou Shiming has the potential to be a world champion within one year although former WBO/WBA flyweight champion Brian Viloria noted that the Chinese Olympic champion "still fights like an amateur" and that Roach was working on correcting this.

Ortega who is listed as a bantamweight by boxrec.com has a record of 3-1 with 2 knockouts and is coming off a 3rd round TKO over Arcadio Sanchez who was making his professional debut.

The Zou Shiming-Ortega fight will be part of the Top Rank card headlined by the WBO/WBA title fight between champion Juan Francisco Estrada of Mexico and mandatory challenger, undefeated Milan Melindo of the Philippines.
