Berchelt (L) and Haya (R).
Hard punching Miguel Berchelt (18-0, 15 KOs) of Mexico is aiming to add visiting Weng Haya (17-5, 9 KOs) of the Philippines to his list of victims in front of his hometown fans and countrymen.

Berchelt and Haya met today for the first time Thursday in Mexico prior to their 10 round clash in Berchelt?s hometown of Merida.

The Mexican speaking in a press conference before their bout recalled how he worked hard for this fight an expressed confidence that Haya will be his victim number 19.

Berchelt made his intentions clear that he wanted to fight the best of the super featherweight division which include champions, Roman Martinez (WBO) and Takashi Uchiyama (WBA) after Haya and is looking to put on a show for his fans this Saturday night.

He vowed to send Haya back to the Philippines with another defeat in Mexican soil.

On the other hand, Haya did not spend a lot of time talking and prefers to make his statement in the ring this Saturday. The Cebuano is determined to win and hopes that his fight with Berchelt will be exciting and intense. He states that he wants to end the undefeated streak of his rival.

This is Haya?s second trip to Mexico. He faced former WBO champion, Orlando Salido in 2011 in an exciting contest in Sonora. He dropped and hurt Salido twice in the said fight before being waived off by the referee in the 8th after absorbing punishment from Salido.

The fight between the two is part of a nine fight card by Max Boxing Promotions and Zanfer Promotions. Berchelt and Haya?s bout will be the headliner and will be broadcasted over Azteca 7 in Mexico.
