Another badly over-matched Filipino boxer has been mauled in a OneSongchai Promotions card in Thailand.

25 year old Jovill Marayan who was not ranked in the last published Games and Amusements Board ratings and who had a miserable record of 8 wins against 13 losses and 3 draws with 3 wins by knockout, suffered a 6th round knockout at the hands of 28 year old, world-rated Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo who had a near-unblemished record of only one loss against 47 wins with 30 big knockouts.

When the fight was stopped, Marayan, at that point was behind in a shutout after five rounds with all three judges having the Thai Pan Asia Boxing Association champion ahead in his title defense by identical scores of 50-44.

Thai boxing writer Damrong Simakajomboon reported that the champion Piriyapinyo ?dominated in every round, dropping the Filipino with a vicious right hook in round four. The one-sided show was ended when the champion floored his challenger twice more, forcing referee Wongsai Pongsri to stop the bout at 1:41 of round six.?

Piriyapinyo had beaten several far more talented Filipino boxers including reigning Philippine champion Vin Vin Rufino over whom he scored a 5th round TKO and a 7th round TKO and also Richard Olisa and Randy Megrino whom he beat by 6th round TKO?s had only lost by a twelve round unanimous decision to long-reigning, undefeated WBA world champion Chris John of Indonesia on November 9 last year.

On the other hand Marayan who had won a ten round split decision over Dado Cabintoy was previously knocked out in the 2nd round by Rex Wao last December 22 and knocked out in the 3rd round by Daniel Ferreras on September 28, 2012.
