Salud.
PBA Commissioner Chito Salud in a statement issued after the FIBA Asia draw was conducted in which the Philippines was bracketed with Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Chinese-Taipei in Group A, stressed ?our fate remains in our hands.?

Salud who has worked hard to provide the national Gilas Pilipinas basketball team the best support possible for its bid in the FIBA Asia Championships which would, if the Philippines finishes in the top three guarantee a spot in the FIBA World Cup in Brazil next year made it clear that ?no matter how our choice of group pans out, we just have to bring our ?A? game through all the phases of the tournament to be competitive.?

The PBA Commissioner concluded, ?Let?s go Gilas Pilipinas. Our country?s hopes and prayers are with you.?

Group C was clearly regarded as the so-called ?Group of Death? with China, Iran, South Korea and the team that finishes second in the Southeast Asia Basketball Association championship which has yet to take place.

Japan, Qatar, Lebanon and Hongkong comprise Group B while Kazakhstan, India. Bahrain and the SEABA winners will be in Group D.
