Victor Terrazas.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum's hopes of getting Nonito "The Filipino Flash"Donaire a title shot at newly-crowned WBC super bantamweight champion Victor "Vikingo' Terrazas have been scuttled.

That's because Terrazas will fight mandatory challenger Leo Santa Cruz following a purse bid won by Golden Boy Promotions.

Terrazas who has a record of 37-2-1 with 21 knockouts won the title relinquished by Abner Mares who moved up to featherweight with a close split decision over former super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares last April 20..

Former WBO, Ring Magazine and WBC Diamond Belt champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire who lost his titles in a stunning upset to former Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux last April 13 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York was hoping to get a title shot at Terrazas in his comeback fight planned for October.

But with the Terrazas-Santa Cruz fight bid won by Golden Boy Promotions, a Donaire fight is out of the question.

Golden Boy Promotions? winning bid was $526,000 while the losing bidder was Zanfer Promotions who bid $451,000.

The WBC had ordered Terrazas to defend the title against mandatory challenger and former bantamweight champion Leon Santa Cruz who dominated former junior bantamweight champion Alexander Munoz of Venezuela, winning by a 5th round knockout on the Floyd Mayweather-Robert ?The Ghost? Guerrero undercard last May 4.
