CHICAGO -- Kevin Durant did a little bit of everything, 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but the rest of the Thunder came through big as well as Oklahoma took take of business in Game 6 and advanced to the second round Friday night at the Toyota Center in Houston.
Kevin Martin had 25 points and three while Reggie Jackson, starting in lieu of the injured Russell Westbrook, handled the point guard chores fairly well with 17 points and eight assists. Derek Fisher added 11 and Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison chipped in 10 apiece.
"I liked the guys' commitment to helping each other out. I thought our team was at the highest level it's ever been all series," head coach Scott Brooks told NBA.com as the number one seeded Thunder finished off the eighth seeded Houston Rockets in six games.
Despite playing with flu symptoms James Harden still managed 27 points to lead the Rockets, but the robo scorer missed 15 of 22 shots. Chadler Parsons had 25 while center Omer Asik contributed 13 points and 13 rebounds. Francisco Garcia turned in 11.
Down 3-2 and with the chance to send the series to a seventh game, the Rockets went off to a hot start but they faltered in the end, shooting just 30 of 73 field goals, including 14 of 32 from 3-point range. (Homer D. Sayson)
