WBC Silver Strawweight champ and highly ranked 105 pound challenger Denver ?The Excitement? Cuello will fight alongside his stable mate Sonny Boy Jaro in Osaka, Japan on April 7, 2013. This was relayed to Philboxing.com by the boxer himself and his promoter, Aljoe Jaro.

Aljoe Jaro said that Cuello and Jaro will be involved in a ?triple main event? offering with Japanese bantamweight (WBA) champ, Koki Kameda as the headliner at the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka, Japan. Kameda will be defending his belt against Juan Carlos Payano of the Dominican Republic that night.

The event which is a co-production between Jaro Promotions and Kameda Promotions will have Cuello facing Takashi Kunisige (24-8-2, 2 KOs) while Sonny Boy Jaro will be dueling against another Japanese foe, Hiroyuki Hisataka (21-10-1, 10 KOs). Both fighters hail from Osaka, Japan.

Jaro stated that this will be Cuello?s tune up bout as they wait the result of the April 13th title bout between WBC 105 champ, Xiong Zhao Zhong and Carlos Ortega in Las Vegas.

Cuello has long been the WBC?s number 1 challenger and has been a holder of the silver version of the belt since 2011. His quest for the title has been put on hold by the organization twice already, once offering a step aside fee for Cuello to take a backseat as the WBC crowned its first Chinese champ in Zhong.

Meantime, Sonny Boy Jaro is looking to bounce back into title contention after his short lived reign as the WBC flyweight champ last year. This will be his first fight after losing the belt in the same country last July. Aljoe Jaro is hopeful that Jaro?s win will put him back in the title contention. He also said that a move at the next class, super flyweight (115 pounds) is another possibility for his boxer.

The fight will be shown on Philippine TV through GMA Network via delayed telecast per the promoter.
