Marlon Tapales expressed disappointment after his close Majority Decision defeat against Mexican David Sanchez in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico.

The young prospect from Tubod, Lanao Del Norte called the outcome, a ?hometown decision? for his Mexican counterpart.

?Binigay ko na lahat kaso natalo ako (ng) home town decision. Pero ok lang po, ganyan talaga ang laro, dasal na lang ako na may iba pang laban na ganoon (I gave it my all but I lost from a hometown decision. But it is okay, that is part of the game, I will just pray that I will be able to get another fight like that)," Tapales told this Philboxing.com writer moments after his bout.

Tapales lost to Sanchez via scores of 116-112, 115-113 from two judges at ringside. A third judge had the fight even at 114-114 for both fighters.

His trainer, Coach Juanito Ablaca is also upset after the announcement was made according to Tapales, but the 20 year old boxer consoled his trainer.

?Galit siya, pero sinabihan ko lang na ganoon talaga ang laban.?
(He was angry, but I told him that that is the way it is.) said Tapales.

Tapales just bowed his head down after hearing the announcer declare Sanchez the winner of their 12 round battle for the vacant WBC Silver Junior Bantam belt. He knows that there is little he can do to alter the declared results of the bout.

?Wala lang yumuko na lang ako, tanggap ko naman. Kahit na ano pang gawin ko ganoon naman talaga ang desisyon nila, hindi na yon mabago? (I just bowed down, I accept it. Whatever I do, I can not change their decision), expressed Tapales.

Tapales admitted that the decision hurts because he has sacrificed a lot for this fight. He pulled out of a scheduled fight in Cebu to take this fight in two weeks? notice, arriving in Mexico just days before the bout.

The Mindanao born fighter remains hopeful that he will be given another chance to land a big fight such as this in the future.

Tapales also apologizes to his countrymen in the Philippines after his disappointing loss.

?Hindi ko sinasadya kasi sa tingin ko talaga nanalo ako sa decision at alam ko na may hometown (I did not intend to lose, I thought I won but I think it was a hometown decision for him),"
Tapales said.

?Gusto kong maglaban kami ulit, kahit saan pa (I want us to fight again, wherever it may be)," expressed Tapales.
