Filipino super flyweight contender Marlon ?The Nightmare? Tapales made weight one day before his Saturday showdown with hard hitting David Sanchez of Mexico.

The 20 year old southpaw from Tubod, Lanao del Norte weighed in at 113 pounds while Sanchez was a pound and a half heavier at 114.5 pounds at Friday?s weigh-in. Both fighters will be vying for the vacant WBC Silver Super Flyweight (115 lbs.) belt tonight (Sunday in the Philippines) at the Gimnasio del Estado, in Hermosillo.

Tapales (21-1, 8 KOs) arrived in Mexico earlier in the week and promised to put a good fight against Sanchez.

?Magandang laban po ito kasi alam ko na magaling din ang kalaban ko at naka-pag ensayo naman ako sa Pinas .?

(This will be a good fight because my opponent is good and I have trained well while I was in the Philippines.) Tapales told Philboxing in a brief chat with this writer.

Sanchez is proven to be heavy handed, his record stands at 19 wins, 2 defeats and 2 draws, with 15 of his wins via stoppages. His two defeats are via points against two of his countrymen.

Meantime, Tapales? only defeat came in the hands of Brix Ray, a fellow bantamweight from Southern Philippines in 2009.

?Ready na po ako maki-pagbakbakan kay David (Sanchez),? (I am ready to go to battle against David.) Tapales asserted.

The fight will be shown in Mexico and in the United States via TV Azteca, and will be the co-main event of former champion, Giovanni Segura?s return in the ring.
