Marquez.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum?s planned dinner with Juan Manuel Marquez on Wednesday to discuss a planned fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao has been postponed until next week.
Arum told the Manila Standard they were originally scheduled to have dinner in San Diego but Marquez had ?some obligations in Mexico this week so we changed it to next Tuesday.?
He said Marquez would be ?coming into Las Vegas and we?ll go out for dinner and he will stay over and hopefully we can accomplish something.?
Arum earlier disclosed that he had met with Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz who is still in the US and that they ?went over everything.?
He also maintained that a fifth fight ?will not necessarily be held outside the United States? because of concerns expressed by the Pacquiao camp over the huge tax bite.
While he expressed confidence that ?more money will be made fighting in the US? Arum indicated they would ?run the numbers, take everything into account and see where the most money is for everybody? even ad he pointed out that there is a 20 to 39 percent tax but the difference for Manny is he gets credit for the US taxes against his Philippine taxes.?
He said that ?if the economic differences are a little then its obvious where he (Pacquiao) should fight.?
Asked about the chances of making a fifth fight between Pacquiao and Marquez, Arum told us ?the prospects are very good especially since the Floyd Mayweather Jr deal with Showtime. We can possibly have an extra bonus from HBO to make this fight (Pacquiao-Marquez) happen.?
While he didn?t indicate any amount, Arum revealed that Showtime ?put up an incredible amount of money and would lose? but that he believes HBO Sports who were abandoned by Mayweather ?will come out to the plate, that?s why I am enthused? about the Pacquiao-Marquez fifth showdown which has been planned for September.
Discussing Mayweather?s fight against Robert ?The Ghost? Guerrero, Arum said ?its going to be a fight and I think Guerrero has a helluva shot. I really believe that.?
