It's been some time since Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has been truly excited about a fighter he signs up.

But now, the astute promoter who made a major breakthrough by signing up two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time world champion Zou Shiming of China who will make his pro debut at the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel on April 6 has described the card as ?sensational? following the remarkable interest in the Chinese fighter.

In addition to that Arum told the Manila Standard that the huge Filipino workforce in Macau have indicated they are looking forward to seeing WBO/WBA champion Brian Viloria defend his title against tough Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada along with undefeated Dodie Boy Penbalosa Jr and his younger brother Dave Penalosa in action on the undercard.

In a major thrust aimed at attracting the huge Chinese population which has shown a dramatic increase in their interest in boxing because of fighters like Zou Shi Ming, a three-time amateur world champion, the Macau card will predominantly feature Asian fighters with Shiming billed as the main event.

WBO flyweight mandatory challenger Milan Melindo will also be on the card hopefully against a high-ranking Asian or if they are unable to get a competitive opponent ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told us they will try to sign up a Mexican or any other tough Latino opponent.

Arum was hyped up following the arrival of Zou and his wife who were greeted greeted by him and Top Rank president Todd duBeof, Venetian president and COO John Caparella and celebrated trainer Freddie Roach.

Zou Shiming buckled down to training immediately and all indications are the Chinese Olympian enjoyed his first session at the Wild Card Gym where he got to know Roach and worked on the punch-mitts with him.

Roach himself told FoxSports that he believes Zou will be his next Manny Pacquiao, the eight division world champion and crossover superstar.
