Jack Reiss.
World Boxing Organization president Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel has appointed Jack Reiss as referee for the WBO light flyweight title defense of Donnie Nietes against Mexico's WBO minimum weight world champion Moises Fuentes at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu on March 2.
The fight will be telecast on ABS-CBN Channel 2 in the highly successful "Pinoy Pride" series on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
The three judges named by Valcarcel are Adalaide Byrd, Patrick Russel and Filipino Danrex Tapdasan.
WBO Asia Pacific head Leon Panoncillo will be the WBO fight supervisor.
Reiss has refereed four fights in 2013 and was the third man in the ring when former world junior welterweight champion Amir Khan forced Carlos Molina to retire in the tenth round of a WBC light welterweight Silver title fight on December 15, 2012.
He also refereed the Josesito Lopez-Victor Ortiz battle for the vacant WBC Silver welterweight title fight when Ortiz retired in the ninth round with a broken jaw in June last year.
Byrd of Nevada was a judge in the fourth fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez last December 8 in which she had Pacquiao ahead 47-46 before he suffered a devastating knockout with a second to go in the sixth round. She was also a judge when Austrin Trout scored a unanimous twelve round decision over Miguel Cotto on December 1, 2012 and served as a judge in the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight title fight between champion Wladimir Klitschko and Mariusz Wach on November 10, 2012.
Patrick Russel has served as a judge in six fights in 2013, his last assignment being in the Randy Caballero vs Luis Maldonado ten round bout which Caballero won by a 4th round TKO last January 11.
