There is no truth to an earlier report that Russian light welterweight Ruslan Provodnikov signed with Manny Pacquiao?s MP Promotions.
This is according to the 29 year old boxer himself and his manager, Vadim Kornilov.
?No, I did not sign or anything,? Provodnikov clarified with this Philboxing.com writer.
Provodnikov said that he is signed with Banner Boxing Promotions, a promotional company based in Philadelphia, PA.
His manager also denied that Provodnikov signed with MP Promotions or with Michael Koncz, Pacquiao?s adviser as reported by Ronnie Nathanielsz on this site and at Boxingscene.com.
The report (http://philboxing.com/news/list.articles.php?aid=24&id=79962 / http://www.boxingscene.com/koncz-making-moves-expand-build-mp-promotions--61908) stated that Koncz, who handles the affairs of MP Promotions signed the Russian boxer, a former sparring mate of Pacquiao last year in a move to bolster the company?s line of fighters.
?It is not true, they made a mistake,? said Kornilov who is currently in Russia when this writer contacted him with regards to the story.
?News about MP signing Ruslan is a mistake on Koncz?s part,? Kornilov added.
Kornilov will further discuss this subject with this writer once he returns to the States on Monday. He will also address recent news report of Provodnikov fighting WBO welterweight champ, Timothy Bradley.
Provodnikov is reported to be facing Timothy Bradley on March 16, 2013 at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles California. This will be Bradley?s first fight after his controversial win over Pacquiao last June 9, 2012 in Las Vegas where he stripped Pacquiao of his welterweight belt.
Provodnikov served as Pacquiao?s main spar mate during the Filipino boxer?s camp against Bradley.
