The Philippines Rey ?Flash? Perez has dropped a very close decision in a battle for the vacant WBC International Silver super bantamweight title against Hugo ?Incredible? Cazares in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The WBC said Cazares ?won by a whisker? and that the fight was ?close throughout.?

It said Cazares ?used his experience to defeat astute counter-puncher Perez.?

The WBC said ?another decisive factor was the extra pep of Cazares? fire power.?

All three judges scored the fight for the Mexican with two judges giving it to Cazares 114-113 and the third judge 113-112.

With the win the 34 year old southpaw Cazares improved his record to 38-7-2 with 26 knockouts while the 22 year old Perez dropped to 17-3 with 3 knockouts.

Prior to the fight the former two-time world champion Cazares received an avward from the Boxing C omission of Los Mochis for what the WBC said was his brilliant boxing career.

Cazares thanked the Commissioners and said ?it's always good to receive avwards as it motivates us to improve our performance in the ring.?

Perez earlier won the vacant WBC Youth Silver super bantamweight title with a 10th round TKO over Japan?s Tatsuya Takahashi on May 26, 2012.
