Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire has moved up to No. 5 in the latest Ring Magazine ratings climbing one notch following his masterful 3rd round demolition of Mexican warrior Jorge "Travieso" Arce at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas last December 15.
Donaire, who was been on the pound for pound top ten rankings for 190 weeks, was No. 6 in the previous rankings. He displaced lightweight Adrien Boner who is undefeated with a record of 25-0 with 21 knockouts.
"Fighter of the Decade" and Donaire's countryman Manny Pacquiao was dropped to No. 7 following his crushing 6th round knockout loss to Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez who moved up to No. 3 with Argentina's Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez at No. 4.
Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO's) is the reigning WBO/WBA junior welterweight champion while Martinez is the WBC light middleweight king.
Undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr (43-0, 26 KO's) who was tied with Pacquiao at No. 2, has been elevated to No. 1 while talented Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KO's) the reigning WBC/WBA super middleweight champion is at No. 2.
Winding down the top ten are Wladimir Klitschko at No.8 followed by Timothy Bradley at No. 9 and Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero at No. 10.
