WBO and Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire predicts his title defense against Mexican warrior Jorge "Travieso " Arce at the sprawling Toyota Center, home of the NBA's Houston Rockets, will be a "war" because thats Arce's style.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo and this reporter who will cover the fight on the Philippines' premier network Channel 2 on Sunday, Donaire said the fight will have to be like the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez battle.

He said "that will happen because that is what Arce needs to do because thats the only way he can win. He needs a war."

Donaire said that as far as he is concerned "My speed is there, my power is there so he needs to keep a distance but he needs to be in front of me all the time, so it's going to be a war."

A confident Donaire said he would nail Arce "more with my power because if I see an opening and a chance to throw several punches that would be a pity. I want to get him by throwing my hardest shots when I see an opening."

Donaire described his battle with Arce as "a classic match-up between a boxer and a fighter with the boxer winning sometimes and the fighter at other times. It all depends on how aggressive he is."

He noted that the question being asked "is if my power is enough to take him down."

Recalling that some of his opponents like Omar Andres Narvaez, Jeffrey Mathebula and Toshiaki Nishioka didn't come forward aggressively, Donaire said "I think it will be different with Arce because he is a fighter and thats the only way he'll be able to be competitive and thats by being in front of me. Besides, thats the only way he knows to fight."

Regarding his left hand which after the title-winning performance against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr showed his hand wraps soaked in blood which happened again in the Mathebula fight and again in the title defense against Japan's Toshiaki Nishioka which required nine stitched for a Deep cut right up to the bone, Donaire said "It's okay. It's just a little bit dry, it's about ninety percent. It's alright as long as I can hit hard."

Donaire disclosed it was much worse before the Nishioka fight and "there was a big cut and open but this time the skin is closed so I'm not worried. I am all out."

Arce told Dyan and myself "this is what I wanted and now I'm three days from making history. Taking note of Marquez' victory over Pacquio, Arce emphasized "nothing is impossible."

Arce and Donaire showed great respect for each other and joked around at the presscon although the Mexican said he would effectively shock the boxing world just like Marquez did.

He said he had trained "very hard for three months and I'm ready."

Arce clarified that while he trained alongside Marquez in he gym of "Nacho"Beristain he said "he never trained me and never did anything for me. We trained there because we thought the fight would be in Mexico. Beristain was busy with Marquez."

Contrary to some reports Arce also said Angel Heredia did not give him any strength and conditioning exercises and added "I did my own preparation and strategy for this fight."

Arce promised "I'm going to pressure Nonito. I'm going to go right after him and be on top of him for twelve rounds. If he's not ready to fight twelve rounds he has a problem. I'm anxious. This is going to be a nightmare for him."
