WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire says he is not out to avenge the 6th round knockout loss of Manny Pacquiao to Mexico?s Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, Manila Time.

Donaire who is already in Houston, Texas winding down his training for his showdown at the Toyota Center against Mexican warrior Jorge ?Travieso? Arce told the Manila Standard while Pacquiao?s loss to Marquez ?was heartbreaking because Manny was doing so well? he does not seek to avenge that loss against Arce.

He said ?I never really go for vengeance or revenge. I believe that if it helps to put our country the Philippines up, I will do the best that I can to win this fight in the best possible way.?

Donaire promised ?to do my best and put on a good showing.?

Asked about how well his hand which was cut and required nine stitches after the battle for the coveted WBC Diamond belt against Japan?s super champion Toshiaki Nishioka, Donaire said ?Its good and not as bad when I fought Nishioka because when I fought him it was already bad.?

He indicated ?this time it's almost there but it's good enough? to work through as many rounds as needed.

Donaire was very pleased with how his training has gone telling us ?its been great. We have been sparring a lot. We started off with eight rounds nothing below that and we did eleven rounds a couple of times. We are ready for the fight. My mind and body is ready for anything.?

Donaire?s sparring partners include American featherweight Guy Robb who has a record of 10-1 with 4 knockouts.

He said ?I feel good but may be a little tired because of not taking a rest after the (Nishioka) fight but it made me realize that no matter how familiar you are with your opponent we are focusing on him (Arce) as the toughest opponent out there.?
