Las Vegas, Nevada - The son of one of the legends of Philippine boxing, Dodie Boy Penalosa Jr. followed fellow Filipino Ernie Sanchez's win with a spectacular victory of his own at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Penalosa Jr., 20, scored a sensational 2nd round knockout of Mexican, Jesus Lule-Raya of Fort Myers, Florida in the second fight of the Pacquiao-Marquez IV fight.
Penalosa started strong with fast combinations against the 28 year old Raya in the initial round of the fight. Raya blocked most of those shots as the young Filipino boxer used both hand and foot speed to move around his foe.
Raya pressed Penalosa Jr. in the ropes in the early goings of Round 2 but the Filipino returned fire with a vicious body and head combo.
Penalosa Jr. unleashed a left to Raya's body which set up a vicious right hook upstairs that immediately sent the Mexican to the floor.
Referee Jay Nady stopped the fight after seeing the helpless Raya in the canvass.
It was the 10th straight knockout for the young Penalosa in as many contests.
The time of the knockout was 1:12 of Round number 2.
