Las Vegas, Nevada ? The Philippine?s first woman champion, Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton is in Las Vegas this big Fight Week. But she is not here to fight but here to lend full support to all Filipinos fighting in this big ?Pinoy? filled card this weekend.
?I am so excited for them. I am really looking forward to it. We have a lot of great fighters in the undercard. I am going to be there full pride,? Julaton told Philboxing.com as she watched Pacquiao, Farenas and Penalosa Jr. train in a local gym here.
The Filipina ? American boxer will be rooting for her fellow ?kababayans? as they all do separate battles in the Fight Capital of the World this Saturday.
?I am so excited for them. I am excited for Manny (Pacquiao), I am very excited for Farenas, and he is going up against Gamboa. I am pulling for Farenas to pull an upset. I think he has power. I?ve seen him in the gym. I think he is going to go up there and he is just going up there and just take it,? Julaton said.
Julaton, 32, has been the torch bearer for women?s boxing in the Philippines and has won titles at the super bantamweight category in various sanctioning bodies of the sport. She is the first Filipina boxer to wear a world title strap across her belt and she believes her ?kababayan? Mercito Gesta will also be in that list of Filipino world champions after Saturday.
?Gesta is a great athlete. I got to see him at the Wild Card and his work ethic is great, it?s awesome. He?s got a really good team and I am excited for him for his world title fight. I just see really good things for him. I think he is doing great. I see the Philippines as having their heads up on December 8th.?
Julaton like her co-?Pinoy/Pinay ?fighters have been a proud representative of the country whenever and wherever she fights. And she believes that our fighters will make the country proud this weekend in the biggest boxing event of the year.
?I am so proud. It is funny because the last Pacquiao fight, I almost got into a fight. There was someone who was talking behind me on how good Marquez is and how Marquez beat Pacquiao. I said, wait a minute. So luckily the fight did not break out. But yes, I am ready to show full support at whatever cost.
"I don?t promote any of that but I don?t want to take any bulling from anyone. I am definitely excited for Saturday and I am rooting for everyone.? related the Filipina warrior."
The former world champion does not see a repeat of last year?s Pacquiao-Marquez fight tomorrow and believes that Pacquiao will finally show who the better fighter is between him and his Mexican rival.
?Manny looks fierce, it looks like he is ready to put it on Marquez. I feel sorry for Marquez. Manny is way too fast, fast feet and fast hands. He is just extremely intelligent,? The Pinay boxer described Pacquiao as she watched him train.
?He is well prepared. He knows what he is going to be facing with this fourth fight. That is why he puts so much effort into the ring, and into his training and into his positioning and so forth. And with that, I don?t even see the fight even finishing. I think Manny will just overwhelm Marquez even if Marquez is supposed to be bigger," assessed Julaton.
Julaton mentioned that she is looking forward to resume her stint in the ring in early 2013. She told Philboxing.com that her promoters are intent of her fighting in the Philippines next year, one that she is looking forward to.
?I am looking for good things. Right now, I am currently training. I always want to make sure that I am ready for whatever position I am having,? Julaton expressed.
That opportunity can wait for Ana Julaton because this Saturday, she will be a proud fan and supporter of all Filipino boxers that will see action in that ring at the MGM Grand Arena.
And she will not be shy to show it at the stands.
