(WITH PHILBOXING?S EXCLUSIVE FIRST INTERVIEW OF FARENAS REGARDING THE FIGHT)

Another promising Filipino fighter will be a part of this year?s biggest boxing event in Las Vegas as part of the Manny Pacquiao - Juan Manuel Marquez IV card.

And he will be facing a popular and unbeaten world champion on the event slated for the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 8th.

Michael Farenas 34-3-4 (26 KOs) will be facing no less than former Olympic Gold medalist and former unified Featherweight champ, Yuriorkis Gamboa 21-0 (16 KOs).

The fight was confirmed by no less than Top Rank head, Bob Arum to various boxing media outlets this afternoon.

But this Philboxing.com writer has been informed of this information and has been working on this story since Saturday with Farenas? camp.

Former world boxing champion Gerry Penalosa who manages Farenas, requested last night that Philboxing.com does not release this story until contracts between the two fighters are formally signed.

Penalosa expressed that they were offered the fight and that he loves the idea of that bout between his ward and Gamboa, but cannot give any confirmation last night if the bout is official.

According to a report by ESPN?s Dan Rafael, the two will figure in a 130 pound non-title bout in the co-feature on the Pacquiao-Marquez IV card and HBO PPV offering.

This writer spoke to the 28 year old Farenas just moments ago to confirm the fight.

?Parang tuloy na, sabi ng manager ko.? (I think it is on, as per my manager.) Farenas told this Philboxing scribe.

The boxer from Gubat, Sorsogon expressed that he has been hearing a lot about the fight and is excited that it has now been confirmed.

?Alam naman natin na magaling pero gawin ko lahat ng makaya ko para manalo at mabigyan siya ng mahirap na laban.?

(I know that he is good but I will do everything to win and give him a difficult fight.)

Farenas said that he is currently training at the Wild Card Gym under Filipino trainers, Nonoy Neri and Roberto Jalnaiz.

He has been in training for six weeks now, and has already been sparring even before he came to the United States last month to continue his training here.

Farenas promised that he will do his best to upset the decorated amateur boxer and former WBA and IBF Featherweight belt holder in Gamboa.

?Sana po suporthan ninyo kami sa panlangin. Gagawin ko lahat ng makakaya ko para manalo.?

(I hope you will support us with your prayers. I will do everything I can to get the win.)
