Fighter of the Decade Manny Pacquiao showed his gratitude for the admiration and affection he has received in the United States as well as the millions of dollars he has earned fighting in the boxing capital of the world, Las Vegas, by distributing a truckload of turkeys and pumpkin pies to the needy as well as to fight fans on Thanksgiving Day in Los Angeles.
The self-proclaimed ?Pinoy Pilgrim? was all smiles as he distributed the gifts at the Westside Shepherd of the Hills Church in Los Angeles assisted by his adviser Michael Koncz and other members of Team Pacquiao and those who received the thanksgiving gift shook his hands and smiled as they thanked him for his thoughtfulness.
Pacquiao rested on Saturday in preparation for a hard grind in his final weeks of training at the Wild Card Gym of trainer Freddie Roach who reportedly wants him to spar ten rounds on Tuesday.
He didn?t do the TV commentary of the flyweight unification title fight between WBO champion Brian Viloria and WBA champion Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez as previously announced and instead decided to rest as he continues his preparation for a fourth showdown with Mexico?s Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand on December 9, Manila Time.
Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza told the Manila Standard it was cold outside and Pacquiao thought ?it would be better since this is the flu season to go home and rest? commending Pacquiao for showing how seriously he is taking his fourth fight with Marquez.
