JUSTIN FORTUNE BELIEVES RIGONDEAUX DIDN?T WANT TO RISK FACING FRANCISCO

Trainer Justin Fortune who trains world-rated Filipino super bantamweight Drian Francisco believes WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux ?was not interested because Drian is awfully dangerous.?

Fortune, a former heavyweight contender and onetime trainer of ?Fighter of the Decade? Manny Pacquiao while working alongside Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym told the Manila Standard that Rigondeaux was ?taking the Thai fighter (Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym).?

Fortune said ?they are just being safe with Rigondeaux.?

In his last fight for the Pan Asian Boxing Association title Poonsawat was taken the distance before winning a twelve round unanimous decision over Filipino journeyman Danilo Pena who has a record of 26-13-2 with 11 knockouts and is clearly past his prime.

He said Francisco ?is a very, very good little fighter and he can f---ing really, really punch and awkward and also tough.?

Fortune said Francisco was originally scheduled to fight on the Brian Viloria-Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez card at the LA Sports Arena on November 17 but up to now Zanfer Promotions Fernando Beltran hasn?t told them who the opponent is.

He said ?I?m getting frustrated because I like him and he?s very talented but I need to know who the hell we?re fighting because its very difficult to prepare a fighter if I don?t know who the opponent is.?

Fortune hinted at the fact that since Beltran is Mexican and ?Manny Pacquiao fu?ed all that up by bashing all the Mexicans? they are making things difficult.

Even the Viloria unification title fight had been postponed twice which threw off the WBO champion?s training schedule.
