In its continuing effort to enhance Asia's premier pro basketball league, the Philippine Basketball Association and Sports5, the sports arm of the TV5, network continue to innovate in its efforts to connect more fans to the PBA.

In its latest move Sports5 and the PBA launched the PBA on AKTV app for Android smartphones.

SMART and Sports5 partnered to create the "second screen" app for avid pro league fans which allows them to be up to date with all aspects of the PBA whether during games or on the go.

Scores and stats are updated in real-time which helps Pinoy basketball fans stay in touch like never before.

SMART and TV5, both members of the MVP Group of companies came together to deliver what has been described as a "unique innovation in sports viewing. The synergy between the two companies guarantee users ease and convenience when keeping track of the country's most popular basketball league."

Leaders in statistics, team standings and news and notes will all form part of InterAKTV.ph and will be delivered to each fan at their fingertips.

TV5 Executive Vice President ad COO Roberto "Bobby" Barreiro said "Pinoys love to watch the PBA games. They want to see the scores and stats of their favorite teams. Our primary goal with this app is to provide fans with the best content for every game while connecting them with each other."

The app is now available for Android devices through Google Play. It will soon be made available to iOS users later in the year.
