Brooklyn, NY ? Peter ?Kid Chocolate? Quillin 27-0 (20 KOs) dropped defending Middleweight Champ Hassam N?Dam 27-0 (20 KOs) six times to capture N?Dam?s WBO strap in an exciting slugfest at the brand new Barclay?s Center Arena.

Quillin of New York, caught N?Dam with a vicious left uppercut in the 4th which pushed his opponent across the ring and the canvas. N?Dam of Pantin France got up and beat the mandatory eight-count by referee Eddie Claudio but was dropped again by Quillin with a hard left hook.

N?Dam recovered again and escaped the round as Quillin pressed towards him. The Frenchman put up a fight in the 5th as he connected with his own left hook in the round.

A trade of punches between the two undefeated fighters ensued in the 6th with N?Dam getting the worse of the exchange. An initial right hook then a left hook landed for Quillin which knocked down N?Dam again.

The defending WBO Middleweight champ stood up again but only to be dropped a second time in the said round. A thundering left hook scores for Quillin this time.

But N?Dam is game and tough. He stands up after every knockdown and does not shy away from the action in the ring. He put up a decent fight after the 6th scoring meaningful combinations of his own and some rounds as well.

Quillin finished the 12th and final round with a couple of knockdowns again as N?dam gets careless during their exchanges. The top rated challenger unleashed his left hook again that floored his opponent again in the last minute of the last round. Another punch from Quillin dropped N?Dam which sealed the victory for the challenger.

The three judges at ringside were unanimous with identical scores of 115-107 all for the new WBO Middleweight Champion of the world.
